Degree Revalidation
Degree Revalidation
To be valid in Brazil, an undergraduate course attended abroad must pass by a revalidation process, which can only be done by a public university that registers diplomas and offers the same or equivalent course. They can not be revalidated by UFSCar in case of courses that haven't yet been validated by the Ministry of Education (MEC). UFSCar doesn't revalidate Medicine degrees also.
The required documents and further information about undergraduate diploma validation are available at Undergraduate Pro-Rectory site (ProGrad) at http://www.prograd.ufscar.br/cursos/revalidacao-de-diplomas-1/revalidacao-de-diplomas. Further information can also be obtained by email evandrocarvalho@ufscar.br or by phone +55 (16) 3351-8403.
To be valid in Brazil, graduate diplomas (Master's/Doctorate) granted for studies abroad should be submitted, according to Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), to a Brazilian university recognition that has a graduated course rated and recognized by Capes. The course must be at the same area of knowledge and with equivalent or higher level degree.
The criteria and procedures for recognition are defined by the universities, according to their technical-scientific and administrative autonomy.
The procedures and other information are available on Graduate Pro-Rectory website (ProPG): www.propg.ufscar.br/propg/reconhecimento-de-diplomas. It is important that the applicant read the rules and FAQ appearing at the website. For more information, contact: reconhecimento@ufscar.br or +55 (16) 3351-9783.
